About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Blockchain Developer to architect, design, and implement secure smart contract systems and decentralized applications. In this role, you won't just write code—you will lead technical strategy and make key architectural decisions that impact our clients and the wider ecosystem.

This is a remote role available for either full-time or part-time (20+ hours/week) engagement.

Key Responsibilities

- Architecture & Leadership: Define technical roadmaps for smart contract development, ensuring best practices in security, gas efficiency, and scalability.

- Development: Design, develop, and deploy complex smart contracts across Ethereum and EVM-compatible networks (Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, etc.).

- Integration: Collaborate with frontend and backend teams to integrate blockchain logic using the viem/wagmi stack and ethers.js.

- Mentorship: Review code from team members, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior developers to elevate the team's technical expertise.

- Innovation: Implement advanced features for DeFi protocols (lending, swapping, staking) and NFT mechanics (royalties, payment splits, dynamic metadata).

- Security: Conduct thorough security reviews and testing to identify vulnerabilities before production deployment.

Job Requirements

- Experience: 5+ years in software development, with at least 4 years specializing in Solidity and EVM development. A portfolio of deployed mainnet projects is required.

- Technical Depth: Expert-level knowledge of Solidity, Hardhat/Foundry, and the viem/wagmi/ethers.js ecosystem.

- DeFi & NFT Expertise: Deep understanding of DeFi primitives (AMMs, lending pools, staking) and NFT standards (ERC721, ERC1155, royalty standards like ERC2981).

- Security Mindset: Proven experience identifying and mitigating smart contract vulnerabilities (reentrancy, oracle manipulation, access control issues).

- Gas Optimization: Ability to write highly efficient contracts that minimize transaction costs without sacrificing security.

Bonus Skills

- Multi-Chain Experience: Deploying to and maintaining contracts on chains like Optimism, Celo, or Avalanche.

- Indexing: Experience building subgraphs using The Graph or using GraphQL for data querying.

- Open Source: Active contributor to Web3 developer tools or libraries.

- Storage: Familiarity with IPFS, Pinata, or other decentralized storage solutions.

Compensation & Benefits

- Competitive Pay: $8,000 - $12,000 USD/month (or equivalent hourly rate for contractors), depending on experience and location.
