Responsibilities
Food preparation
- Washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables/fruits
- Preparing basic ingredients (e.g., marinating, portioning)
Cleaning & hygiene
- Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Cleaning workstations, floors, and storage areas
- Ensuring proper sanitation standards (very important in F&B)
Kitchen support
- Assisting chefs during food prep or service
- Fetching ingredients or supplies quickly
- Refilling stock (e.g., sauces, condiments)
Stock handling
- Receiving and storing deliveries
- Organizing ingredients (FIFO – first in, first out)
- Checking for freshness and expiry
Waste management
- Disposing of food waste properly
- Keeping garbage areas clean
