Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior Accountant (GL / Team Lead) to oversee General Ledger activities, manage month-end close processes, and lead a small remote accounting team. This role requires a strong balance of hands-on accounting expertise and leadership, with experience in QuickBooks or Sage Intacct and working in a remote or distributed environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee General Ledger (GL) accounting functions, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Lead and execute month-end and year-end close processes
• Review financial statements and ensure accuracy of reports
• Supervise and support a remote accounting team, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
• Perform and review bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations
• Utilize QuickBooks or Sage Intacct for accounting operations
• Support billing, collections, and vendor/client coordination
• Identify process improvements and ensure compliance with internal controls
• Use advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) for reporting and analysis

Qualifications

• 5+ years of General Ledger (GL) accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks or Sage Intacct
• Strong experience in month-end close and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
• Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in BPO, shared services, or logistics industries
• Exposure to international clients or accounting standards
• Familiarity with systems like SAP or Oracle
