Job Summary

The Kitchen Commis is responsible for supporting daily kitchen operations in a Korean BBQ outlet by assisting in food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring all ingredients and stations are ready for service. This role works under the supervision of senior chefs to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency in delivering an authentic and enjoyable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in basic food preparation, including cutting, marinating, and portioning meats and vegetables

- Prepare simple items such as sauces and banchan according to company standards

- Maintain proper mise en place and ensure readiness of ingredients for service

- Follow instructions from Chef de Partie and senior kitchen staff

- Ensure all food is handled, stored, and prepared in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment

- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO)

- Support the kitchen team during peak service periods to ensure smooth operations

- Minimize food wastage and handle ingredients with care

- Ensure timely replenishment of ingredients and supplies during service

- Learn and apply Korean BBQ preparation techniques and kitchen procedures

- Assist in basic inventory tasks when required

- Report any issues or shortages to senior kitchen staff promptly

- Adhere to all SOPs, grooming, and kitchen safety standard"
