Design mechanical systems and components for automation projects, which may include robotic systems and conveyor lines. This involves creating detailed schematics and 3D models using CAD software
Develop and test prototypes of automated equipment to assess feasibility, performance, and safety. Analyze test data and modify designs to eliminate malfunctions and improve functionality and reliability
Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to integrate mechanical systems with control technologies like Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and sensors
Analyze existing production processes to identify opportunities for automation, recommending innovative solutions to reduce manual labor, minimize errors, and cut costs
Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, operation manuals, and maintenance procedures. Ensure all implemented solutions comply with industry standards and safety regulations
Job Requirements
A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
Practical experience, internships, or prior experience in industrial automation or a robot-related field
Professional certifications in automation technologies (like ISA's Certified Automation Professional) can be advantageous
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
Understanding of control systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics
Strong knowledge of robotics and mechanism design. Pneumatic and hydraulic knowledge are advantage
Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., ladder logic for PLCs, Python, C++)
Experience with analytical tools (PowerBI, Excel)
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control standards
