Role Overview

The Senior Quantity Surveyor

We plays a key role in managing project costs, contracts, and procurement from the design development stage through tendering, construction, and final accounts.

The position requires strong commercial acumen, contractual expertise, and the ability to work closely with project teams, consultants, and clients to ensure cost-effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cost Planning and Estimation

• Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets, and detailed cost estimates throughout all project stages.
• Conduct feasibility studies, cost analysis, and value assessments to support design and commercial decisions.
• Monitor project costs and cash flow, identifying potential variations and cost risks.

. 2.Tendering and Procurement

• Prepare tender documentation, bills of quantities, and pricing schedules.
• Manage the tendering process including tender evaluation, clarification, negotiation, and award recommendations.
• Advise on procurement strategies and contract packaging to achieve best value for money.

3. Contract Administration

• Administer contracts in accordance with standard forms including PAM, JKR, and FIDIC.
• Manage variations, claims, extensions o time, and contractual correspondence.
• Prepare and certify progress payments, interim valuations, and final accounts.

4. Project Coordination

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams to ensure commercial andcontractual alignment.
• Attend project meetings and provide cost compliance with contractual and financial requirements.

5. Risk Management and Value Engineering

• Identify commercial and contractual risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Lead and participate in value engineering exercises to optimise cost without compromising quality or performance.
• Provide advice on cost-saving opportunities and alternative construction solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity
• Surveying, Building Construction, or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years’ relevant working experience in both consultancy and contracting environments.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with construction contracts, particularly PAM, JKR, and FIDIC.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects concurrently.
