Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and compliance at Oil & Gas project sites, fabrication yards, workshops, and offshore/onshore operations.
• Conduct routine site inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments to ensure compliance with PETRONAS requirements, OSHA regulations, client standards, and company HSE policies.
• Identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards, and recommend corrective and preventive actions to minimize operational risks.
• Assist in conducting daily toolbox meetings, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC), and permit-to-work (PTW) activities before work commencement.
• Work closely with HSE personnel, site supervisors, project teams, subcontractors, and clients to maintain a safe working environment.
• Monitor high-risk activities such as lifting operations, hot work, confined space entry, working at height, and equipment handling.
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and compliance with site safety requirements.
• Assist in incident reporting, accident investigations, root cause analysis, and preparation of HSE reports and documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, audits, training, incidents, toolbox meetings, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate and organize safety inductions, HSE briefings, emergency response drills, and safety awareness training for employees and contractors.
• Support implementation of safety initiatives, HSE campaigns, and continuous improvement programs to strengthen safety culture.
• Ensure worksite compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations throughout project execution.

Candidate Qualifications

• Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health & Safety, or related discipline.
• Minimum 1–3 years of working experience in HSE/Safety roles within the Oil & Gas, Offshore, Marine, Construction, or Heavy Engineering industry.
• Knowledge of Oil & Gas safety standards, OSHA requirements, HSE regulations, and industry best practices.
• Familiar with Permit to Work (PTW), HIRARC, JSA, toolbox meetings, and site safety inspections.
• Yellow Book (DOSH Registered Safety & Health Officer) certification holder is an added advantage.
• Possess valid Oil & Gas Safety Passport (OGSP).
• Certified in First Aid, Fire Fighting, or Emergency Response training is preferred.
• Good communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and safety documentation preparation.
• Quick learner, proactive, adaptable, and able to work in fast-paced project environments.
• Willing to travel and work at project sites, fabrication yards, or offshore/onshore facilities when required.
