We imagine and build the possibilities for a better everyday and future through experiences and dialogue. We believe design can have a meaningful impact in our lives through transformative experiences and interactions that shape our behavior, beliefs, and actions. We craft these exceptional experiences through the ideas, objects, places, buildings, and communities that we design. We draw upon curiosity, optimism, and reason to develop strategies and solutions in our rigorous process. To be able to work through the complexities of a project, this process is user-centric, research-driven, and sustainable. Always with human needs in mind, we design at all scales, from the micro to the macro, working from the outside–in and inside-out. We thrive on collaborations to push our thinking, within our team, with clients, and with all our partners. We constantly engage in dialogue and critique to gain innovative insights. This approach enables us to imagine and design seamless experiences that impact the way people think, feel, and act with others and their environment. Denise de Castro is the Principal Architect of DDC Architectural Studio. She has a Master of Architecture from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College. She has worked in design offices in the US and in the Philippines, notably IDEO (San Francisco), CBT Architects (Boston), and Lor Calma Design Associates (Manila). At DDC, she leads a passionate and talented team.
