We are seeking an analytical and highly detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to manage full-cycle accounting while leading strategic financial initiatives. This role combines daily financial operations with advanced tasks such as forensic auditing, financial forecasting, and building long-term financial roadmaps—ideal for someone who thrives on accuracy, structure, and strategic problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

Core Accounting & Reporting

• Manage full financial records, including chart of accounts, general ledger, and all bookkeeping functions in QuickBooks Online.
• Conduct monthly expense analysis to identify trends, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Perform accurate bank, credit card, and vendor reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).

Strategic & Audit Functions

• Conduct a full forensic review of historical financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare quarterly financial projections based on KPIs and operational trends.
• Support development of a 12–36 month financial roadmap aligned with business growth goals.

Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping roles.
• Bonus: Experience with accounting in education, daycare, or non-profit sectors.

Technical Expertise

• Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
• Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets (financial models, pivot tables, custom reports).
• Strong experience using Google Workspace for documentation and reporting.

Professional Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and reconciliation skills.
• Excellent English communication skills for explaining financial insights clearly.
• High integrity and strong commitment to confidentiality.
