Generative Alpha – Backend Engineer (JD)

Requirements

• Computer Science Fundamentals – Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or a related field. Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and distributed systems.

• Programming Skills – Proficient in at least one systems programming language (Rust, Go, or C++). Experience with Rust is a strong plus.

• Distributed Systems Experience – Hands-on experience in designing, developing, or operating distributed backends or services (e.g., consensus systems, event-driven architectures, or high-concurrency APIs).

• Production System Operations – Experience running and maintaining production systems, including incident troubleshooting, performance optimization, and improving system reliability.

• DevOps & Observability – Familiar with managing and operating Kubernetes clusters, setting up CI/CD pipelines, and using observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.

• Requirements Analysis & Execution – Ability to work closely with product and business teams to break down requirements into actionable tasks, document progress, and execute independently. Familiar with project management tools like GitHub Projects or Linear, and comfortable using GitHub Issues for tracking development work.

• Collaboration & Pragmatism – Contributes actively to technical discussions with a problem-solving mindset and a focus on results.

• AI-assisted Development – Familiar with using AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Codex) to boost productivity while maintaining control over code quality and complexity.

• Language Skills – Strong proficiency in English reading and writing for technical documentation and communication; spoken fluency is not strictly required.

Nice to Have

• Experience in Web3, financial systems, trading infrastructure, or other high-reliability backend systems.

• Contributions to open-source infrastructure projects.

• Familiarity with consensus protocols, ledger systems, or blockchain technologies.

• Experience turning early prototypes into robust production systems.

• Understanding of AI Agent system development, MCP protocol, and integration with OpenAI or Anthropic APIs for building AI-driven systems.
