Responsibilities

1.  Receiving & Inspection of Goods

• Assist in receiving deliveries from suppliers and commissary
• Check quantity, quality, and condition of items against delivery receipts and purchase orders       
• Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages immediately to the Warehouse Supervisor
• Ensure proper labeling of received items (date received, expiry, batch)

2. Proper Storage & Inventory Handling

• Store items in designated areas following FIFO / FEFO principles
• Arrange stocks according to warehouse layout and safety standards
• Assist in organizing dry goods, chilled, and frozen items properly
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of storage areas at all times

3. Picking, Packing & Issuance

• Pick and prepare items for store or department requisitions
• Ensure correct items and quantities are issued based on approved request forms
• Assist in packing and staging of goods for dispatch or delivery
• Secure items to prevent damage during handling and transport

4.Inventory Control Support

• Assist in regular physical inventory counts and cycle counts
• Report near-expiry, expired, slow-moving, or damaged items
• Support accurate recording of stock movements (inbound and outbound)
• Help minimize stock losses, variances, and pilferage

5.Warehouse Cleanliness & Safety

• Maintain cleanliness of warehouse floors, racks, and equipment
• Follow proper waste disposal and sanitation procedures
• Observe workplace safety rules, including proper lifting and handling techniques
• Immediately report unsafe conditions, spills, or hazards

6.Equipment & Tools Handling

• Properly use and take care of warehouse tools (pallet jacks, weighing scales, racks)
• Report malfunctioning or damaged equipment
• Ensure tools are returned to their designated areas after use

7.Documentation & Compliance

• Assist in filing delivery receipts, stock cards, and inventory records
• Follow company policies, food safety, and sanitation standards
• Comply with audit requirements and internal controls

8.Coordination & Support

• Coordinate with Warehouse Supervisor, Purchasing, and Operations teams
• Assist in loading and unloading of delivery vehicles
• Perform other warehouse-related tasks as assigned by immediate superior
