What is the job?

The Accountant will be responsible for help manage various parts of the accounting cycle including General Ledger leading to creation of draft financial statements. The role will maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support the overall financial health of the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.


Responsibilities:

  • Help manage all aspects of accounting, including, general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
  • Prepare journal entries as part of the monthly, annual close process.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, adhering to accounting principles and regulations.
  • Help preparation of audit materials and support external auditors during the audit process.
  • Identify opportunities for streamlining accounting processes and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Utilize accounting software and systems proficiently to maintain accurate records and facilitate reporting.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance
  • At least one (1) to three (3) years of practical experience in accounting roles.
  • Proven experience in practical accounting, bookkeeping, general ledger management
  • Proficient in Excel - Pivot table, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, IF function.
  • Knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures including the Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP).
  • Understands financial statements.
  • Amenable to work with deadlines and without close supervision.
  • Amenable to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and superb organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
  • Can converse effectively in English, with occasional difficulty expressing more complex thoughts and ideas clearly and coherently.
  • Ability and desire to learn, self-motivated, and career oriented.
  • Must have stable employment history.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Relevant certifications such as a CMA are a plus.
  • Professional experience in a financial services organization such as a public practice firm is a plus.
  • Professional experience in an Audit firm is a plus.
