About Xpress:

We’re looking for a Data Engineer to help strengthen our data foundations and bring intelligence to life across every part of the platform.

The Opportunity:

As a Data Engineer, you’ll be a key contributor to the Nexus AI team, helping design and maintain scalable pipelines, clean data models, and infrastructure that supports everything from reporting to experimentation and machine learning. This is a great opportunity to grow within a fast-moving data team, collaborate across product and engineering, and work on meaningful problems at scale.

As Xpress expands, this role may evolve to take ownership of specific data domains and play a central role in scaling our analytics and ML readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Pipeline Development

• Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines across operational and product systems.
• Use tools such as Airflow, DBT, and Python to clean and transform data efficiently.
• Collaborate with the team to integrate new data sources and improve existing pipelines.

2. Data Modeling & Quality Assurance

• Contribute to the design of reliable and well-documented data models.
• Perform validation checks to ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability.
• Monitor and resolve issues related to data ingestion and freshness.

3. Collaboration & Support

• Work closely with analysts, product teams, and engineers to understand data needs.
• Assist in improving tools, documentation, and access to data across teams.
• Support experimentation, dashboarding, and ad-hoc requests from business units.

Ideal Candidate:

• Min 2–4 years of experience in data engineering, data infrastructure, or backend systems.
• Proficient in SQL and Python, with hands-on experience using data orchestration tools like Airflow or DBT.
• Familiar with cloud data platforms such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift.
• Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams and fast-paced environments.
• Strong attention to detail, with a proactive attitude and love for clean, reliable data.
