• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Associate degree may be acceptable for junior roles.
• Coursework in financial accounting, managerial accounting, taxation, and auditing is often expected.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Xero, MYOB).
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas).
• Understanding of:
• General Ledger (GL)
• Accounts Payable (AP)
• Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Bank reconciliation
• Payroll processing (optional, role-dependent)
• Journal entries and month-end closing
• Ability to prepare financial reports and summaries.
• Basic knowledge of GAAP or local accounting standards.
• Familiarity with tax rules, compliance procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Understanding of internal controls and documentation processes.
• Entry-level roles: 0–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Mid-level roles: 2–5 years experience in AP/AR, GL, or financial reporting.
• Experience in a similar industry is often a plus.

Responsibilities

Recording daily financial transactions, managing ledgers, reconciling accounts, processing invoices/payments, assisting with payroll, and preparing financial reports (balance sheets, income statements) to ensure accuracy, compliance (GAAP, tax laws), and support management with financial data, requiring attention to detail and proficiency in accounting software.
