The Application/Design Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing designs for precision machine parts and metal fabricated components, ensuring they meet customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities. This role involves creating detailed CAD models and drawings, selecting suitable materials and fabrication methods, and collaborating with production and sales teams to deliver cost-effective, high-quality solutions. The engineer also supports process improvements, product development, and technical evaluations to enhance performance, manufacturability, and efficiency across projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop machine parts, assemblies, and metal fabricated products based on customer requirements and engineering principles.
• Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and specifications using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet quality standards.
• Provide technical support for quotations, feasibility studies, and process improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate and optimize material selection, tolerances, and fabrication techniques to enhance product performance and reduce costs.
• Participate in design reviews, prototype development, and testing.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with relevant standards and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial technology major in Drafting Technology, or a related field
• At least 2–3 years of experience in design, applications, or a related engineering role
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent)
• Solid understanding of technical drawings, schematics, and design principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities
• Can work both independently and collaboratively within a team
• Highly detail-oriented, innovative, and adaptable to project requirements
