Pastry Chef / Baker

The Baker is responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting high-quality breads, pastries, and other baked goods according to company recipes and standards. This role ensures consistency, creativity, and adherence to food safety regulations while supporting the overall operations of the kitchen or café.

• Prepare and bake breads, pastries, cookies, cakes, and other baked goods.
• Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and production needs.
• Monitor baking processes and adjust oven temperatures, baking times, and other variables as needed.
• Ensure the freshness, taste, and presentation of all baked products.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the baking area, tools, and equipment.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Assist in developing and testing new recipes.
• Manage inventory of baking supplies and report shortages.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to meet daily production goals.

Preferred Skills:

• Formal culinary or baking education (a plus, but not always required).
• Experience in a café, bakery, or restaurant setting.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced bakery/café environment.
• Requires early morning or flexible shifts.
• Involves standing for extended periods and handling baking equipment.

• Proven experience as a Baker or similar role.
• Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, or holidays as required.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy baking supplies.
• Creativity and passion for baking and food presentation.
