Leadership and Supervision

• Lead, mentor, coach, and motivate a team of 5-10 Medical Billing Specialists to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
• Handle escalated patient or client issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Manage team scheduling, time-off requests, and workflow to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency.

Operational Management

• Oversee the daily operations of the medical billing account, including charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, and denial management/accounts receivable (AR) follow-up.
• Monitor team productivity and accuracy against established quality metrics and SLAs.
• Generate and analyze performance reports (e.g., aging reports, denial trends, claim turnaround time) and develop action plans to address variances.
• Ensure strict compliance with all HIPAA regulations, payer requirements, and company policies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency of the RCM cycle.

Training and Quality Assurance

• Develop and deliver training sessions for new hires and ongoing refresher training for current staff on updated billing codes, payer rules, and software changes.
• Conduct regular quality audits of claims and payment posting to maintain a high level of accuracy and minimize errors.
• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for complex billing scenarios, coding questions (e.g., CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS), and payer-specific issues.
