Senior Data Engineer – Manila, Philippines

Job Description / Responsibilities:

Data Engineering & Development

• Develop code and solutions that transfer/transform data across various systems
• Maintain deep technical knowledge of tools in data warehouses, data hubs, and analytical tools
• Ensure data is transformed and stored efficiently for retrieval and use
• Maintain data systems to ensure optimal performance
• Develop understanding of underlying business systems involved with analytical systems
• Follow software development lifecycle, code control, and standards
• Maintain and develop technical knowledge through self-training and professional networks
• Secure & deploy ADF pipelines, enable CI/CD
• Automate debt deployments, manage GitHub integration
• Monitor Snowflake costs, auto-suspend, usage analytics
• Enforce access controls (RBAC)
• Experience with data cataloging and governance tools (e.g., Purview, Atlan, Collibra) and data observability tools is a plus

Systems Analysis

• Work with key stakeholders to understand business needs and capture functional and technical requirements
• Offer ideas to simplify design and complexity of solutions
• Communicate expectations to stakeholders during solution delivery
• Develop and execute test plans to ensure accuracy and quality of data

Service Management

• Communicate obstacles during solution delivery to leaders and stakeholders
• Define and manage promised delivery dates
• Research, analyze, and predict operational issues, informing leadership
• Offer viable solutions for unexpected issues during solution development and delivery

Education / Job-Related Technical Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, verbally and in writing
• Ability to work in a large, global corporate structure
• Advanced English; additional languages a plus
• Strong ethics and adherence to company values
• Ability to isolate and define problems, evaluate alternatives, and make timely decisions
• High analytical ability to assess pros and cons of approaches

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years experience in Data Engineering
• Proven expertise with relational (SQL) databases, data warehouses like Oracle, SQL & Snowflake
• Technical expertise in data modeling, data mining, and segmentation techniques
• Experience building and troubleshooting data pipelines using Azure DevOps Integration
• Experience with batch and real-time data ingestion and processing frameworks
• Experience with Python, Java, or similar programming languages
• Knowledge of additional cloud-based analytics solutions, Kafka, Spark, and Scala is a plus
