• Cleaning: Sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning windows and doors 
• Sanitizing: Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, kitchens, and other areas 
• Stocking and restocking: Restocking supplies like toilet paper and paper towels, and ordering new supplies 
• Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance, such as maintaining cleaning machinery 
• Safety: Following health and safety regulations, and using cleaning chemicals safely 
• Reporting: Notifying management of any damages or repairs needed, and reporting work in progress or completion 
• Other duties: Assisting other departments, transporting dirty linens, and performing laundry

Cleaner job requirements include: 

• Education: A high school diploma or GED
• Experience: At least one year of experience as a cleaner or janitor
• Knowledge: Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and techniques
• Physical stamina: The ability to lift heavy items and perform cleaning tasks
• Reliability: Being punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic
• Communication: Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
• Interpersonal skills: Being friendly with good interpersonal skills
• Teamwork: The ability to work independently and as part of a team
