Position Overview

The Gardener/Maintenance Staff plays a key operational role in keeping the cricket farm clean, functional, and conducive to insect breeding. This position ensures that the facility, equipment, and surrounding grounds are maintained properly to support consistent production and a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Facility & Grounds Maintenance

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the entire farm premises, including pathways, work areas, and outdoor surroundings.
• Perform regular landscaping tasks such as sweeping, trimming, clearing debris, and basic gardening.
• Ensure proper waste disposal following farm sanitation standards.

Cricket Farm Support

• Assist in cleaning rearing bins, trays, and cages as instructed by supervisors.
• Help maintain ideal environmental conditions (temperature, humidity) by checking and cleaning equipment like humidifiers, heaters, and ventilators.
• Report any unusual observations in the cricket enclosures (mold, pests, damaged containers, etc.).

General Maintenance

• Conduct basic repairs (minor fixes on doors, screens, crates, plumbing, and fixtures).
• Perform routine inspections of tools and equipment and report if repairs or replacements are needed.
• Support day-to-day operational tasks assigned by the farm supervisor.

Sanitation & Safety

• Follow all farm hygiene protocols to prevent contamination of cricket breeding areas.
• Use cleaning chemicals and tools safely and responsibly.
• Comply with safety rules and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

• Preferably with experience in gardening, general maintenance, farm work, or related labor roles.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual work, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
• Willing to work in an insect-farming environment.
• Hardworking, reliable, and able to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
