• Project Planning & Design: Develop designs for roadways, bridges, and other infrastructure using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Site Analysis: Conduct site inspections to gather data for project planning and design.
• Collaboration: Construction managers, and other engineers on multi-disciplinary teams.
• Project Management: Develop cost estimates, project timelines, and prepare proposals and technical documents for clients and stakeholders.
• Quality & Safety Assurance: Ensure all construction projects comply with established quality and safety standards.
• Construction Oversight: Monitor and guide construction and maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to designs and technical specifications.
• Problem-Solving: Identify engineering problems, analyze traffic patterns, and find solutions for transportation challenges.
• Material Testing: Test soils and construction materials to ensure the strength and adequacy of foundations and roadways.

Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
• Licensure: A Professional Civil Engineer (RCE) license is typically required.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with AutoCAD and other CAD software is essential.
