Your job is to create the initial interior, cover design, and revision layouts of a full-color picture book. That includes ensuring that they follow the specifications and instructions provided by the author.

A day in the life of a graphic artist includes

• Using Adobe InDesign to create the initial and revision layouts based on set formatting and technical specifications provided by the author
• Making sound design decisions about potential layout issues based on standard operating procedures for design-related work
• Applying and/or altering template styles according to an author’s requirements
• Generating PDF files that meet printer requirements
• Troubleshooting errors that may occur either because of the author’s files or software issues
• Extracting RTF files for content evaluation
• Evaluating images submitted by an author to ensure these meet printing requirements
• Fixing old files to meet standards for resubmission to printer

• Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts/Advertising/Multimedia or equivalent
• Working knowledge of MS Office applications, Adobe Photoshop, PageMaker, InDesign
• A good understanding of proofreading symbols
• Above-average comprehension and good oral and written communication skills
• A keen eye for details, are a team player, and have the ability to multitask
• At least one year of accumulated work design experience
• The willingness and ability to work onsite (Cebu IT Park); preferably from Cebu but open to outside Cebu applicants. Open to WFH arrangements.
