The Medical Coder is responsible for accurately assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to medical records for Same Day Surgery (SDS), Emergency Department (ED), and Ambulatory services. This role ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines, payer requirements, and client standards while supporting accurate billing and reimbursement for US healthcare accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes for SDS, ED, and Ambulatory cases.
• Ensure coding accuracy in compliance with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines.
• Code multi-specialty charts with a high level of accuracy and productivity.
• Maintain compliance with payer, federal, and client-specific coding regulations.
• Identify documentation gaps and collaborate with providers or internal teams for clarification.
• Meet quality, accuracy, and productivity benchmarks.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA compliance standards.

Job Requirements

• College graduate; Nursing graduates are preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical coding.
• Proven experience coding multi-specialty charts.
• Active certification required: CPC, COC, CCS, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of US healthcare coding standards and guidelines.
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Willing to work night shifts and onsite during training and nesting period.
