Key Responsibilities:

• Pollution Control Functions:
• Monitor and maintain compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and permits (e.g., DENR).
• Conduct regular inspections of pollution control facilities (e.g. waste storage).
• Maintain environmental records and prepare required reports for regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate waste segregation, treatment, disposal, and recycling programs.
• Develop pollution mitigation strategies and recommend improvements to systems or processes.

Safety Functions:

• Implement and oversee occupational health and safety policies.
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and safety audits.
• Organize safety drills, toolbox talks, and training sessions for staff.
• Investigate workplace accidents or near-misses and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety compliance.

Administrative & Regulatory Compliance:

• Prepare and submit required reports to relevant government agencies (e.g., SMR, CMR, PCO Reports).
• Maintain updated permits (e.g., Discharge Permit, Permit to Operate, Hazardous Waste Generator ID).
• Serve as liaison between the company and regulatory bodies during audits or inspections.
• Assist in the preparation and renewal of safety and environmental compliance documentation.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Occupational Safety, or related field with equivalent years of experience.
• Licensure/Certification: Accredited Pollution Control Officer (PCO) by DENR; Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Training Certificate (e.g., BOSH, COSH) preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years experience in pollution control and/or workplace safety roles.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of environmental laws, industrial safety standards, excellent communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
