Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field
  • Certification: CPA preferred but not required
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of solid experience in tax compliance and reporting, preferably in service or retail industries (e.g., laundry, hospitality)
  • Experience with BIR eFPS, eBIRForms, Alphalist, and RELIEF is an advantage
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws and BIR processes
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero)
  • Detail-oriented and able to meet strict deadlines

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based, with occasional visits to BIR or LGU offices
  • May require overtime during tax filing and audit seasons

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tax Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation, review, and submission of all tax returns (e.g., VAT, withholding tax, income tax, fringe benefits tax)
  • Monitor compliance with BIR, LGU, and other government tax regulations
  • Maintain updated knowledge of current tax laws and rulings

2. Tax Planning and Advisory

  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize tax efficiency
  • Advise management on potential tax implications of business decisions
  • Support management in assessing the tax impact of new projects, contracts, or expansions

3. Audit and Documentation

  • Prepare necessary documents and schedules for BIR audits and assessments
  • Represent the company in tax audits, hearings, and meetings with tax authorities
  • Maintain proper tax records and ensure accurate documentation for audit trails

4. Coordination and Review

  • Coordinate with internal departments, external auditors, and consultants on tax matters
  • Review tax computations, journal entries, and reconciliations prepared by accounting staff
  • Train and guide accounting personnel on tax compliance procedures and updates

5. Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax compliance reports
  • Analyze tax risks and provide recommendations for corrective actions
  • Ensure timely submission of tax reports to management and regulatory bodies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field
  • CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in tax compliance, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws, BIR regulations, and government compliance requirements
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Proficient in accounting software and MS Office applications
