Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing technical documents, and collaborating with stakeholders to support successful project delivery. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform structural, mechanical, and piping take-offs.
• Prepare material handling estimates for conveyors, trusses, chutes, and hoppers.
• Develop accurate estimates and quotes to support business performance against budget.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clarity and compliance with customer specifications.
• Prepare and review site tender requirements and documentation in line with client guidelines.
• Analyze technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate proposals.
• Manage multiple tenders and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Continuously improve estimating standards, templates, and processes.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure material specifications and cost efficiency.
• Evaluate completed projects to refine future estimates and improve accuracy.
• Calculate labor hours, mobilization/demobilization costs, plant and equipment needs, and other project costs.
• Coordinate subcontract components and prepare tender submissions.
• Ensure adherence to Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2008) procedures and guidelines.
• Collaborate with peers to create competitive proposals tailored to client needs.
• Gather and analyze supplier quotes to optimize cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare comprehensive and professional tender submission documents.
• Demonstrate knowledge of site insulation, including fiberglass, spray foam, batt, rigid fiberboard, and concrete foam insulation used for walls and roofs.

Requirements:

• Background in metal trades or a related field.
• Intermediate proficiency in computer applications, including MS Word and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Initiative, problem-solving abilities, and a high level of attention to detail.
• Capability to meet deadlines and manage workloads effectively.
• Basic understanding of project cost control and change order management.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
• Familiarity with material/consumable specifications, such as coatings and metalworks.
• Practical knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software.
• Awareness of Quality Management Systems conforming to ISO 9001:2008.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Commitment to participating in company QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment) programs.
• Amenable to work on a compressed schedule (48 hours per week).
