Job Summary

The Tech Security Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security and integrity of our organization's information technology systems and data. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the specialist will implement, monitor, and enhance security measures to safeguard against cyber threats and vulnerabilities. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of IT security best practices, a proactive mindset, and the ability to adapt to emerging cybersecurity challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage security measures and controls to protect the organization's information technology systems, networks, and data assets.
• Monitor systems for security breaches, unauthorized access, and anomalies, promptly taking appropriate action to mitigate risks.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential weaknesses in infrastructure and applications.
• Develop and maintain incident response plans, ensuring swift and effective response to security incidents, breaches, or data breaches.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate and recommend security solutions, technologies, and tools to enhance the organization's overall cybersecurity posture.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging threats, and cybersecurity best practices to adapt security strategies accordingly.
• Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees about security policies, procedures, and safe computing practices.
• Investigate security breaches and incidents, analyzing root causes and proposing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Assist in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure system resilience in the face of disruptions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven work experience as a Security Specialist or similar role in the field of cybersecurity.
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, protocols, and technologies.
• Experience with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, encryption tools, and vulnerability assessment tools.
• Familiarity with network architecture, operating systems, and cloud computing environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and adapt to dynamic security challenges.
