About the Role
We’re hiring a Network Engineer to support and maintain the infrastructure of a national Australian telecommunications provider, one of our key clients. This role is remote-first, but applicants must be based in Metro Manila to attend occasional in-person meetings or team sessions when required.
This position offers the chance to work on a sophisticated network, contribute to key infrastructure projects, and collaborate closely with experienced engineers. It's a hands-on role that involves troubleshooting, deployment, and automation—perfect for someone with a service provider mindset who enjoys working across a range of technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Configure, monitor, and maintain routers, switches, and firewalls in a live production environment
- Troubleshoot and resolve network performance issues and outages
- Manage and secure VPNs, firewalls, and access control systems
- Assist in the maintenance and deployment of containerised software within the network
- Support network expansion, upgrades, and ongoing optimisation
- Work with routing protocols, especially BGP, as part of daily operations
- Provide support for Mikrotik hardware and NMS platforms such as Zabbix or Observium
- Maintain clear documentation of configurations, workflows, and internal tools
- Contribute to scripting and automation of network-related processes (Perl or Python)
- Ensure compliance with internal security guidelines and operational standards
What We’re Looking For- Proven experience as a Network Engineer, ideally in a service provider environment
- Strong background in routing and switching; BGP experience is essential
- Familiarity with Mikrotik routers and/or experience using Zabbix or Observium for monitoring
- Exposure to BNGs (Broadband Network Gateways) is highly regarded
- Working knowledge of Perl or Python (or the ability to adapt quickly to either)
- Basic understanding of DNS administration, with DNS-over-HTTPS experience considered a plus
- Experience writing, building, and deploying Docker images
- Experience with open-source network monitoring tools will be well regarded
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote team setup
- Clear and confident communication, particularly when liaising with Australian-based teams
- Based in Metro Manila with the ability to attend occasional in-person meetings when needed
