We are seeking an experienced NOC Manager – DWDM to lead the 24/7 operations of our optical transport network. This role is responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of the DWDM infrastructure while managing a team of network operations professionals. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with deep technical knowledge of DWDM and optical networking.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the NOC team to provide 24/7 monitoring and support of the DWDM network
- Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and uptime targets
- Act as the primary escalation point for critical DWDM incidents and outages
- Manage incident, problem, and escalation processes using ITIL best practices
- Oversee DWDM performance monitoring, capacity planning, and network optimization
- Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting complex optical network issues (fiber cuts, signal degradation, equipment failures)
- Coordinate with equipment vendors and third-party service providers for issue resolution
- Supervise, mentor, and develop NOC engineers and technicians
- Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and communication of network status
- Oversee network changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities to minimize service impact
- Ensure adherence to security policies and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Several years of experience in network operations, with strong focus on DWDM or optical transport networks
- Solid understanding of DWDM technology, optical transmission principles, and network architectures
- Experience with network monitoring and incident management systems
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Huawei HCIA/HCIP Transmission, or equivalent
- Experience in carrier-grade, ISP, or large-scale enterprise optical networks
- Familiarity with ITIL-based operational frameworks
