JOB SUMMARY

The role of Material Handling Officer is critical to the safe and efficient operation in aircraft maintenance as it ensures that aircraft parts and materials are properly handled and maintained, and that they are available when needed and that they are airworthy and in good working condition. This includes the loading and unloading of aircraft parts and materials onto and off to transport vehicles, such as trucks and forklifts, The officer ensures that the aircraft parts and materials are properly packaged and prepared for transport, and that they are handled in accordance with safety regulations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive and inspect deliveries from vendors/customers, ensuring all documents (AWB, Proforma Invoice, Delivery Receipt) align with shipping labels.
• Conduct receiving inspections per approved procedures and notify customers of deliveries within agreed KPIs.
• Verify all serviceable components have complete documentation (ARC, MSDS, COC, COA, etc.).
• Report discrepancies and quarantine issues to customers for resolution within agreed KPIs.
• Encode and update inventory records accurately, ensuring traceability and proper labeling of parts/materials.
• Store, bin, and segregate components according to FIFO & FEFO principles while maintaining proper identification.
• Issue components and materials upon approved requests, ensuring accurate documentation and system updates.
• Receive, package, and dispatch unserviceable parts per ATA Spec 300, maintaining shipment records and tracking status.
• Monitor and maintain storage conditions, including temperature and humidity control.
• Conduct regular inventory counts, reconcile variances, and request stock replenishment as needed.
• Maintain a clean, FOD-free work environment and ensure proper shift turnovers.
• Adhere to APPC quality standards, safety protocols, and reporting procedures while addressing unresolved issues promptly.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor – Material Handling Section.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

• Bachelor's degree in aviation management, engineering or a related field in supply chain management.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in supply chain management & familiarity in AMOS and or SAP is an advantage.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Knowledge and experience in Supply Chian Management.
• Demonstrated knowledge of aviation materials, parts, tools, and equipment.
• A thorough understanding of aviation operations, materials management, and supply chain management is essential.
• Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards related to the handling and transportation of hazardous materials.
• Proficiency in the use of specialized material handling equipment such as forklifts, jacklift, as well as computer skills for inventory management, record-keeping, and reporting, is important.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to aviation material handling.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Proficiency in warehouse operations, inventory management, and ERP systems.
• Knowledge of aviation materials, documentation (ARC, MSDS, COC, COA), and ATA Spec 300 packaging.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and adherence to FIFO & FEFO principles.
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
• Compliance with safety protocols, including hazardous material handling.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment and maintain organized storage.
• Adaptability to changing operational needs and commitment to continuous improvement.
