THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client, a respected compliance and investigations Australian company who pioneered innovation in the insurance investigation industry, is expanding their team and looking for Accounts Payable Officer! They were awarded “Service Provider to the Insurance Industry” at the Australian Insurance Industry Awards which sums their dedication to delivering top-notch solutions, unparalleled service, and cutting-edge strategies that have made a significant impact on clients and the industry as a whole.
As an Accounts Payable Officer, you are responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices/payables, maintaining records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end reporting. This role will also be reporting to the onshore Accountant and working closely with the Australian team to support smooth financial operations and contribute to the overall efficiency of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing and verifying invoices
- Coding and matching invoices
- Entering transactions into ledgers and appropriate records
- Electronically filing invoices and working papers
- Reconciling transactions
- Assisting with the production of monthly reports and month-end closing
- Maintaining accurate financial records for audit and compliance
- Responding promptly and professionally to internal and external enquiries
- Other ad hoc duties as required
Skills, Experience & Qualification
- Financial accounting knowledge and proven ability to apply the knowledge to working tasks
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting, or equivalent qualifications
- At least 5 years’ experience in full cycle Accounts Payable from an Australian background or Shared Services function
- Proficiency in MYOB and MS Office, including advanced Excel skills
- Experience in managing a high-volume AP email inbox and maintaining accurate electronic AP records
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; meticulous with numbers and documentation, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and consistency.
- Strong organizational abilities and time management, with clear and effective communication in English (written and verbal).
- Comfortable interacting with clients and stakeholders at various levels, demonstrating professionalism and approachability.
- Work independently, manage workload, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
