We are looking for a Business Data Analyst who will bridge the gap between data consumers, executive stakeholders, and technical teams. You will play a key role in defining how data is transformed, moved, and monitored to ensure high-quality insights for decision-making. Key Responsibilities

• Lead structured requirement-gathering sessions with data consumers, executives, and technical teams to define business needs
• Translate business requirements into clear, detailed technical specifications, ensuring alignment between business goals and data infrastructure
• Document business and technical requirements comprehensively, including data flow diagrams, transformation logic, and mapping documents
• Write data designs for ETL processes, ensuring clarity for engineers and analysts, and data is structured for analytics and reporting. These include source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, data definitions, and business logic.
• Define business rules for data monitoring and cleansing scripts to maintain data integrity
• Develop a working knowledge of source systems and their structures, ensuring alignment with data warehouse models and analytic tools
• Collaborate with engineering, data, and business teams to ensure smooth data movement and transformation
• Partner with the business consumer to draft and develop metadata business definitions that will be populated in the data dictionary

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role
• SQL and Python proficiency – ability to query databases and validate data transformations
• Experience working in a startup environment with the ability to self-manage and operate in a fast-paced setting
• Strong ability to communicate with both technical (engineers, data teams) and non-technical (business stakeholders, executives) audiences.
• Requires basic knowledge of data modeling best practices and concepts
• Strong conceptual and structural thinking is required to work through ambiguity and design new capabilities that the business cannot sometimes articulate
• Experience with data visualization tools and analytics platforms is a plus
• With excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present with impact; able to translate complex analyses into easily digestible stories for senior management
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
