Job title: Shopify Backend/Campaign Support

Type of employment: Full-time (Remote)

Budget: $5/hr - $7/hr

Shift Schedule: 11 AM - 7:30 PM PST


We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Shopify Backend/Campaign Support Specialist to join our growing eCommerce operations team. This role is critical in maintaining data accuracy, managing and optimizing Shopify product listings, and ensuring the smooth execution of promotional campaigns and rewards programs across multiple sales channels.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Shopify operations and data management, thrives in a structured yet collaborative environment, and consistently delivers high-quality, accurate results with minimal supervision.

This is a full-service music store established in 2001 that offers a wide range of instruments, pro audio gear, and accessories. They provide rentals, repairs, and private music lessons for various instruments, along with an online shop for retail purchases. Additional services include promotions, financing options, and campaign support for instrument brands.

Objectives of this role:

  • Maintain accurate and optimized product listings across Shopify and other online marketplaces.
  • Support the setup, testing, and execution of promotional campaigns, vouchers, and loyalty programs.
  • Ensure data integrity, product visibility, and campaign accuracy to enhance the customer experience and drive sales growth.
  • Keep the store clean, organized, and fast, with stable syncs between Shopify and external platforms.


Responsibilities:

  • Product Management: Create, update, and optimize Shopify product listings (descriptions, specifications, categories, images).
  • Data Integrity: Verify and maintain accurate pricing, SKUs, and inventory details through regular data audits.
  • Campaign Execution: Set up and update promotions, discount codes, bundles, and rewards programs.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct weekly checks for product categorization, search, and filter accuracy.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, design, and operations teams to ensure campaigns are executed on time and aligned with marketing goals.
  • System Maintenance: Maintain SKU and pricing masterfiles; perform data cleanups and troubleshoot sync discrepancies.


90-Day Success Metrics

  • Less than 1% listing errors (price/spec/category/image)
  • 100% completion of required metafields for filtering and search accuracy
  • New SKUs published within 48 hours of asset handoff
  • Promotions and campaigns executed fully on schedule


Required skills and qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Shopify backend operations (bulk edits, CSV uploads, metafields, collections, discounts).
  • Strong skills in data management, reconciliation, and listing optimization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for managing product data and reports.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.


Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Familiarity with Amazon, Reverb, or other marketplace platforms.
  • Experience with tools like Matrixify, SkuVault, or ListingMirror.
  • Basic graphic editing skills using Photoshop or Canva for product image updates.
  • Knowledge of musical instruments or related products is a plus.
  • Understanding of basic SEO and schema hygiene for product pages.
